Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) is the centralized authentication and authorization service for Azure, providing single sign-on across all cloud services. It uses OAuth 2.0 over HTTPS, enabling seamless login across firewalls and routers, and supports hybrid environments with on-premises Active Directory synchronization.
