Entra ID Concepts and Identity Types
Core identity concepts include users, accounts, and service principals. An identity is an object that can be authenticated, an account is an identity with associated data, and service principals enable services to authenticate. Entra exists once per tenant and tracks all identities including users, services, and applications.
