Details

The DP-900: Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals certification is an entry-level credential designed to validate your foundational understanding of core data concepts and related Microsoft Azure data services. This exam is ideal for students who are new to working with data in the cloud and want to establish a solid base before pursuing more advanced Azure data certifications. The certification covers four core areas: describing Core Data Concepts, identifying considerations for Relational Data on Azure, identifying considerations for Non-Relational Data on Azure, and describing Analytical Workload on Azure. By earning the DP-900, you demonstrate to employers that you understand essential data principles and can navigate Azure's data ecosystem with confidence.

The DP-900 certification does not expire. Once earned, it remains valid indefinitely without requiring renewal. This makes it a low-risk, high-value investment in your professional development. The certification serves as a stepping stone toward more advanced certifications, such as Azure Database Administrator Associate or Fabric Data Engineer Associate, though it is not a prerequisite for any of them.
